We're thrilled to announce that members of the Huni Kuin tribe from the heart of Brazil will be visiting Slovenia to share the powerful force of Yuxibu energy. Pajé Txana Yube, along with his sister Maxi Samara, will bring the spirit of the Amazon forest to us and unite us in prayer for transformation into more conscious beings.
With the sacred force of Nixi Paé as our guide, we'll forge alliances between Europe and the Amazon.
TXANA YUBE
Txana Yube is the elder son of Seya Yawanawa and chief Shane Huni Kuin. He is also the brother of Txana Tuwe, Samia Biruani, Txana Iba and Samara Maxi. He was born in the village Novo Futuro among Huni Kuin people.
Since he was four years old he has been sitting in ceremonies with his father chief Shane Huni Kuin and other elders from the village. He is committed to the path and has already made many diets in his way of becoming shaman.
He is from Eskawata Kayawey group led by Ninawa Pai da Mata and he is currently representative of the youth in their rainforest land. Txana Yube is working to strengthen indigenous culture, tradition and bring healing to the world.
Young shaman, starting his path of traveling and sharing knowledge, wisdom and healing with Ninawa Pai da Mata, is traveling independently for the last few years and has already visited many countries in Africa, Europe and Latina America.
Txana Yube was chosen by his elders to continue the ancient Huni Kuin lineage of the sacred chants of the Nixi Pae and the healing knowledge. He has extensive knowledge of medicinal plants, sacred chants, and healing arts, and is deeply involved in promoting projects for the wellness of his people.
Txana Yube is highly respected for his dedication and tender care with which he transmits and perpetuates his culture. He is renowned in his tribe as an important conductor of Nixi Pae and a great singer, and travels to share his people's culture and spirituality in Europe, Africa and Latina America. As a messenger of this new time, he is committed to building alliances between Europe and the Amazon and promoting a more conscious way of being.
MAXI HUNI KUIN
Maxi Huni Kuin is daughter of shaman Seya Yawanawa and chief Shane Huni Kuin. Samara Maxi is also the younger sister of Txane Tuwe, Sâmia Biruani, Txana Yuba in Txana Ibã.
Maxi lives in Aldeia Novo Futuro, Ninawa Pai da Mata’s village, in Tarauacá, Acre. She is sixteen years old and has been studying the spirituality of the Huni Kuin people since she was 7 years old.
Maxi is a member of the Collective of Women from the village and it’s part of the Siriani Woman Group, a female group that studies traditional Huni Kuin chants and promotes the representation of Huni Kuin women both inside and outside the villages.
Along with her companion Txana Yube, Batani brings a strong ancestral lineage and the powerful force of the forest to their Nixi Pae ceremonies. The healing chants they share with us call on the spirit of the forest, animals, birds, flowers, plants, sky, stars, moon, sun, and waters for "transformation". These sacred songs are incredibly powerful and have the ability to open the heart, helping us remember our true essence, which is intimately connected to nature and each other.
THE HUNI KUIN PEOPLE
The Huni Kuin, which means "true people" in their language, reside mostly in the Brazilian Amazon but their territory extends to the eastern foothills of the Andes in Peru. They are the largest indigenous population in the Brazilian state of Acre and live on twelve Indigenous territories along seven different rivers, including the Purus, Envira, Murú, Humaitá, Tarauacá, Breu, and Jordão. Their native language is called "hatxa kuin," which means "true language."
Despite relatively late contact with the Western world and decades of persecution, the Huni Kuin have managed to maintain their traditional way of life and preserve valuable traditional knowledge. During the time of rubber and latex exploitation, hundreds of indigenous people were enslaved, and their language and culture were prohibited. They continued to practice their sacred rituals in secret, drinking Nixi Pae and singing their sacred songs until today. Spiritual practices hold a prominent place in their lives, and the collective use of ayahuasca ("Nixi Pae") is an important part of their worldview.
After much struggle, the Huni Kuin were finally granted the Kaxinawá Indigenous Land of Rio Jordão in 1991 and are now the true owners of this part of the Amazon forest. This new era has connected them to people who understand and support their efforts to organize and claim their needs.
Today, the Huni Kuin people are traveling around the world as messengers of the forest, sharing their spiritual practices, songs, arts, and forest medicine to help reconnect mankind with Mother Nature. Their myths recount a time when animals and humans lived in close proximity, speaking and marrying one another, and sharing the mysteries of the forest.
If you're interested in experiencing some of their traditional Nixi Pae rituals, you can listen to rare live recordings of their chants, which are weaved sounds intended to guide us during the ceremonies in the depths of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest.
ANCESTRAL WISDOM OF HEALING
The Huni Kuin people have a deep understanding of the local flora and use a highly structured system of plant classification to safeguard this knowledge. Many plant species have been used as medicines for centuries, and this knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation. Today, the Huni Kuin's traditional healing practices are gaining recognition from the wider world.
We are excited to participate in a spiritual and cultural exchange with the Huni Kuin, who will share their wisdom and sacred culture from Acre, Brazil. Pajé Txana Ikakuru, his wife Batani, and daughter Nãke will be leading this exchange, providing a unique opportunity to learn from their expertise and deepen our understanding of their traditions.

Kãpun, also known as Kambo, is a potent medicine made from the venomous secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog native to Brazil. Amazonian indigenous peoples have used it for centuries, applying it via skin burns to purify the body and provide numerous health benefits.
Kambo deeply cleanses the body and strengthens the immune system, removing laziness and indisposition. It's believed to remove negative energy, sharpen the senses, and bring good luck. To maximize the long-term effects of the medicine, it's important to follow a specific diet after application that includes abstinence from sex, meat, sweets (including most fruits).
We offer Kambo sessions in Ljubljana on May 21 starting at 7:30 in the morning.
The contribution to attend is €80. To reserve your spot, please email kaxinawa.si@gmail.com.
